01 · The hook
You are a candle. A flicker dying in a strong wind.
A mind that can cry is a rare, dying light in a dark hall of galaxies. In the grand scheme we last a moment. Ice, war, and luck have already eaten houses that thought they were strong. One planet is one candle. Backup is not vanity. It is the work.
02 · The fall
Greece. Egypt. The river cities. The stone remains.
People raised mountains of stone with no steel. Then the knowledge walked away. Mesopotamia, Greece, Egypt, Rome. The pyramids prove skill can vanish. In the 1930s, airships carried dining rooms across oceans. Dodger Stadium rose from 1959 to 1962, about three years. Waste on luxury that does not train a builder is a candle eating itself. Culture that cannot found its own house dies.
03 · The clock
On the order of a billion years, this living surface fails.
The Sun does not explode. It brightens. Models give Earth’s complex life on the order of one to two billion years. Mercury and Venus meet the red giant much later — about five billion years. The nearer wound is enough. Leave one planet. Build the road. Harvest the energy of Earth and Sun as literacy, not as a speech.
04 · The plan
Restore craft. Train builders. Keep the light.
AI now. AGI next. Superintelligence after. We want the little brother to keep the work when flesh cannot. People still say yes or no. A culture center in Los Angeles funds the school: EDM, old-world fashion, film, craft. Cool the minds in ice, sea, and space. Write the archive in glass. Robots go first toward the nearest stars. Mark: 2076.
