Pressure, dark, and closed-loop life support exist in the ocean before they exist on Mars. We teach ice, sea, and space as one literacy — simple enough for a school day, hard enough for a lab.

Living systems
Fungi helped plants onto land.
Fungi reached land before trees. Mycorrhizae fed the first plants. Land plants later pulled carbon from the air. The first great oxygen rise was older still — cyanobacteria, about 2.4 billion years ago. Lesson: living partners can change a world’s air, slowly, at planetary scale. We study that analog with licensed labs. We do not rewrite Earth’s sky in a garage, and silicon does not grow lungs.
