Proxima Centauri is 4.24 light-years away. Even a ship at a tenth the speed of light takes more than forty years. Known rockets are far slower. So the 2076 mark is a precursor fleet: robots, glass archives, and practiced loops — not a ticketed cruise.

Sea living, desert living, ice living, and space living are one practice. A carrier ship, a closed loop, made air, and a crew that can keep the room — that is how people learn to leave one peninsula. Systems meant to live here must also be able to live on Mars. Robots and people share that air. Machines do not grow lungs. The 2076 mark sends the little brother first.
